Sun Rising At Caravan Club

It's been a long while between music related posts, but this one has been worth the wait!  There is a sensational show on in Melbourne this Saturday night 16th August - Sun Rising: The Songs That Made Memphis are playing at the Caravan Club and the show is going to pay special tribute to Elvis to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Elvis' debut recording at Sun Records.

For those of you who haven't heard about the show yet, Sun Rising takes the famous tales and hilarious anecdotes from Sun Records artists and its creator, Sam Phillips and educates the audience while rocking them senseless!

The show takes the audience on a journey through a chronological tour of Memphis' famed Sun Records, focusing on the period of 1950-57, showcasing authentic renditions from artists including Ike Turner, Howlin' Wolf, BB King, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis & more...

And of course, with the show this Sat night, there will be a special focus on Elvis Presley, the King of Rock & Roll!

Now, I must disclose at this point that I am probably a bit biased because my gorgeous husband is in the show (he will be narrating and singing a lot of the Elvis numbers) but take my word for it, the show is brilliant and heaps of fun, so if you can, get along and check it out.  Tickets are on sale here.
